This Website is designed to provide numerous internet links to help educators and students in the writing field. These links include (but are not limited to): General Writing, Research and Citation, Subject Specific Writing, and English as a Second Language. It is intended to help students, members of the community and users world wide to find information that will be useful to their writing projects.
The advantages to this Website are that the materials come from a credible source, The Purdue University Writing Lab and Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL), and that it allows for users to submit writing questions to OWL Mail Tutors. I have yet to find a disadvantage to this site. Therefore, I give this Website a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. It is an excellent tool for writer's.

This Website provides online access to English Journal, the National Council of Teachers of English award winning journal. The journal provides ideas for English teachers at the middle school and junior and senior high school levels. It includes information and links to help teachers formulate ideas for reading, writing, literature, language and technology integration.
The advantage to this Website is the wide variety of topics that the journal covers. A disadvantage to the Website is that you have to be a member of NCTE or a subscriber to the journal in order to read it. However, due to the importance and credibility of this Website to the English teaching profession, I give the site a 5 out of 5 star rating.

This Website has various links for secondary ELA teachers that are both fun and informative. There are ideas for grammar games, technology integration, vocabulary videos, poetry lessons and NYS Regents exam material. The best part about this Website is the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre Virtual Tour!
An advantage to this Website is that it provides helpful informtion and creative ideas for ELA teachers all in one convenient location. A disadvantage to this Website is that it is constructed in a manner that is not exactly appealing to the eyes, and this can make the site appear bland and boring. Therefore, I give this a 4 out of 5 star rating.

This Website is a fantastic resource for exploring the world of Young Adult and Children's Literature. It provides links to numerous sites surrounding this topic. The Website highlights comprehensive sites, professional organizations, reviews/plot summaries/lesson plans, special or digital collections, and writer's and publishers.
The advantages to this Website are that it is easy to manage and has more information than one English teacher can even handle. There are really no disadvantages to this site, since it is an extremely credible site. Therefore, I give this a 5 out of 5 stars.

This Website is The Official Site of the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents. The ALAN Review is a peer-reviewed journal that is published 3 times a year and is affiliated with the NCTE. ALAN Online is a great tool for English teachers.
The advantages of the Website are that it provides English teachers with current news on YA Literature. The disadvantages are that, like the English Journal, you must subscribe to it in order to view the articles. Therefore, I give the Alan Review a 4 out of 5 star rating.

This Website, BellaOnline: The Voice of Women, features a Nonfiction Writing Site in which "publications seeking submissions" are listed. This is a fabulous resource for teachers to use to encourage students to write and to get published. The Website provides incentive for writer's since many of the publications pay for submissions.
One advantage to this Website is that everything is listed in alphabetical order so it is neatly organized and easy to find specific topics quickly. Disadvantages to the Website are that some of the links don't work because they haven't been updated or were not written correctly on the site, and not all of the publications are educational. Therefore, I give this Website a rating of 3 out of 5 stars.

This Website gives new meaning to the phrase, "dear diary". The site allows people to mail in their secrets anonymously on a post card in the form of art. This Website is a useful tool for the first day of class, since teachers could use it to get to know their students and build trust in the classroom.
The advantage to this Website is that it is both entertaining and educational since it can be used to discuss a variety of topics that relate to education, and more specifically, literature. The disadvantage to this Website is that, depending on the age level you are teaching, it might have to be monitored since some content is inappropriate for the classroom. Therefore, I give this Website 4 out of 5 stars.

This Website is an important resource to English teachers. It provides links to hundreds of authors and publishers. The Harper Collins Publishers site lists the links in alphabetical order so your favorite authors are easy to find! Teachers can use this to lead students to an authors Website while instructing a unit and then students will have access to any other writer's they want to explore.
The advantages to this Website are that it is organized, informative, and highly credible. There are no disadvantages to this site that are currently noticeable, therefore, I give this site a 5 out of 5 star rating.

This Website provides many humorous cartoons surrounding the issues in education. The Website pokes fun at everything from homework, report cards and grades, to education technology. Randy Glasbergen's Website is a fun tool for educators to use and the cartoons make for lighthearted anticipatory sets.
The advantages to this Website are that materials can be found quite easily and on a vast array of subjects. The disadvantage to this site is that in order to use the cartoons they must be purchased directly from the author. Therefore, I give this Website a 3 out of 5 star rating.

This Website provides English teachers with mini-lessons to the one thing they dread teaching the most - grammar! This site gives daily lessons on the fundamentals needed in order for people of all ages to be masters of English grammar. Daily Grammar makes learning about this topic both fun and convenient.
The advantages to this site are that it provides daily access to grammar lessons in order for there to be repetition in the learning. The disadvantage is that it is written by a 30-year high school veteran English teacher, and some readers may think one source does not provide enough credibility to the site. Therefore, I give this Website 4 stars out of 5.
